A globally connected Indigenous tourism network enables communities to scale opportunity, influence tourism development, and participate more equitably in the world’s largest service industry.

A presence in each region

Destination Original Indigenous Tourism (DO-IT) is building a global network that connects Indigenous tourism leaders, organizations, and communities across every region of the world. Through strategic alliances, regional partnerships, and collaborative initiatives, DO-IT works to strengthen Indigenous-led tourism ecosystems in the Americas, the Pacific, Europe, Africa, and Asia. This growing presence enables the sharing of knowledge, best practices, and market opportunities while supporting Indigenous communities to participate more fully in the global tourism economy. By fostering regional collaboration and elevating Indigenous voices internationally, DO-IT helps ensure that tourism development is guided by Indigenous values, governance, and cultural stewardship.

STRATEGIC WORK AND ALLIANCES

Destination Original Indigenous Tourism (DO-IT) is built on collaboration, reciprocity, and long-term relationships grounded in Indigenous leadership and mutual trust. Strategic partnerships are central to DO-IT’s mission, enabling coordinated action across regions, strengthening institutional capacity, and advancing Indigenous self-determined tourism development at national and international levels.

Through formal Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) and strategic cooperation agreements, DO-IT works closely with leading Indigenous tourism networks and territorial organizations, including:

Red Indígena de Turismo de México (Indigenous Tourism Network of Mexico -RITA)

Ma’u Henua Polynesian Indigenous Community – Rapa Nui, Chile.

Asociación Gremial de Turismo Indígena Tarapacá (Tarapacá Indigenous Tourism Trade Association – TITA), Región de Tarapacá, Chile

These alliances support joint strategy development, governance strengthening, market readiness frameworks, measurement systems, certification initiatives, and capacity-building programs tailored to each territorial context.

Beyond formal agreements, DO-IT collaborates with Indigenous leaders, grassroots organizations, public institutions, academic partners, and international agencies to foster ethical partnerships, mobilize investment, and position Indigenous Tourism as a globally recognized, rights-based development model.

Through these strategic alliances, DO-IT contributes to building a cohesive global Indigenous tourism ecosystem, connected, resilient, and led by Indigenous Peoples.

INTERNATIONAL FORUMS, CONFERENCES AND MISSIONS

Participation in international forums, conferences, and strategic missions allows DO-IT to both host and attend key industry events while working closely with partners, tour operators, and media to strengthen education and awareness of Indigenous tourism. Through these engagements, Indigenous leaders can share knowledge, build alliances, and promote tourism models that respect Indigenous rights, cultures, and territories while increasing the global visibility and understanding of Indigenous tourism.
